A Question and Answer Book with Uday Devgan, MD, FACS

Table of Contents

List of important questions that Dr. Devgan will ask me, the patient, at my pre-op consultation:

  • Does your vision limit your activities / lifestyle? How?

  • Which activities are most important to you in your daily life?
    - Reading a newspaper or fine print?
    - Cell Phone, Blackberry, Palm Pilot use?
    - Computer use?
    - Desk / Paperwork?
    - Cooking? Household activities?
    - Daytime driving?
    - Golf / Tennis / Daytime sports?
    - Night Driving?
    - Other?

  • Are you interested in seeing well at distance without glasses after surgery? Or do you not mind wearing glasses for distance activities, such as driving?

  • Are you interested in seeing well at near / intermediate without glasses after surgery? Or do you not mind wearing reading glasses for near / intermediate work?

  • If you absolutely HAD to wear glasses for one activity, which would it be: Reading Fine Print, Computer Use, or Driving?

  • If you could have good distance, intermediate, AND near vision after surgery without glasses, but the compromise was that you may see some halos/glare at night, which would likely lessen with time, would you be interested?
