More than 90 million people in the U.S. or 1/3rd of the population
are nearsighted. And for those with extreme nearsightedness, whose
vision cannot be corrected with laser surgery, there is now a new
Implantable Micro Lens.
|
| Dr. Maloney |
We just finished a six year clinical trial for the FDA where we did
more than 300 implantations. We did only patients who were completely
blind without their glasses. And, it worked miraculously well for them.
|
| Marisa Fermin, Patient |
I mean, I am legally blind. And so, LASIK was not a good solution for
me because the results would not have given me the vision I would want.
And so the lens implant has given me crisp, great vision.

In the Implantable Micro Lens procedure, a tiny incision is made at
the edge of the colored part of the eye. The lens is slipped inside
the eye, where it sits forever. And then locked in place with tiny
stitches, as small as a human hair.

| Dr. Maloney |
The procedure takes about 20 minutes and the recovery is fast. People
are comfortable and back to work the next day.
|
| Amy Kim, Patient |
This surgery for me, because I had such bad eyesight, was a God send.
Because I didn't think that I could ever, not wear glasses. I thought
that I would always be, sort of, half blind.

Although new to the US, the Implantable Micro Lens has been used
in Europe for the past 17 years. And over 400,000 lenses have been
implanted worldwide.
|
| Dr. Maloney |
We have a very long history of safety for this lens. It's highly
accurate and it's removable if it doesn't meet your standards.

This new FDA approval of the Verisyse Implantable Micro Lens may
very well change the future of vision correction surgery.
|
| Dr. Maloney |
It's a major step on the road to completely eliminating glasses
and contact lenses from the lives of all Americans.
