Emily Vogel, OD
Dr. Emily Vogel specializes in the preoperative evaluation and postoperative care of patients at Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute.
Dr. Vogel graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan College of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree.
She subsequently completed a residency in Primary Care and Low Vision with an emphasis in Ocular Disease at the Birmingham VA Medical Center, UAB and Southeastern Blind Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to clinical care, her responsibilities included clinical instruction of fourth-year optometry students, clinical grand round case presentations and treatment planning in collaboration with ophthalmology residents.
Dr. Vogel has been practicing in the specialty areas of cataract, refractive surgery and corneal surgical care for over 18 years. She is board certified with TPA licensure and glaucoma certification. She offers an extensive range of care involving pre and post-surgical care for refractive surgery, ICL, cataract and corneal surgeries, glaucoma diagnosis and management, and dry eye therapy utilizing the latest technological advancements. Dr. Vogel has also participated in multiple FDA clinical studies as a Sub-Investigator for multifocal intraocular lenses, phakic intraocular lenses, corneal inlays and glaucoma treatments.
In her spare time, Dr. Vogel pursues her passion for fitness, nutrition and travel. She enjoys distance running, power yoga, the beach, walking her spirited Blue Weimaraner and adventure travel with her husband Steve, including bareboat sailing trips.
Danielle Ringle, OD
Dr. Ringle’s focus at Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute is to determine surgical candidacy during the preoperative evaluation and to care for patients postoperatively.
Dr. Ringle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry (OD) from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Dr. Ringle completed externships in various practice modalities in both Los Angeles and Orange County. With training in specialty contact lenses, glaucoma, pediatrics, refractive surgery, and retinal disease, Dr. Ringle gained valuable experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
She is member of The American Optometric Association, The California Optometric Association, and the Los Angeles County Optometric Association.
During her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, young son, and chocolate labrador.
Amanda Setto, OD
Dr. Amanda Setto specializes in the preoperative evaluation and postoperative care of patients at the Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute.
Dr. Setto graduated on the Dean’s List from California Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, Dr. Setto engaged in clinical and scientific research at UCLA and also taught at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth before attending Western University of Health Sciences for her Doctorate in Optometry. She received several scholarships and upon graduation, was inducted as a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Setto is a proud member of the American Academy of Optometry and has written articles, textbook chapters and presented a plethora of case reports on the topics of ocular disease, refractive and cataract surgery. She enjoys attending academic conferences and has been asked to lecture and speak at interdisciplinary panels.
In her spare time, Dr. Setto enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book, watching movies and learning new languages.
Monica Youcefi, OD
Dr. Monica Youcefi specializes in the preoperative evaluation and postoperative care of patients at the Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute.
Dr. Youcefi graduated Cum Laude from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors in History and a minor in Women’s Studies. After graduation, Dr. Youcefi gained a plethora of experience in the eye care field and developed a passion for helping people see the world in a better way. She then went on to graduate from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Optometry and has been a practicing optometrist in the field of refractive and cataract surgery since 2015.
Dr. Youcefi serves as an adjunct professor at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry and enjoys teaching students about optometry’s role in the management and care of patients pre- and post-operatively. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Optometry and has written textbook chapters and presented several case reports on the topics of refractive and cataract surgery.
During her spare time, Dr. Youcefi enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, practicing yoga, and solving sudoku puzzles.
